The Evangelism Ministry plays an integral role in the growth of the PHCC. It pledges its support and commitment to advance the cause of Jesus Christ through community witnessing and personal evangelism. Our vision is to increase the membership by bringing the lost to Jesus Christ and to train and equip members of the Faith for their life’s mission in the world, with the sole purpose of glorifying God.
The main activities of this ministry include:
- Evangelism/Community Outreach - impacting the communities through regular visitation and witnessing, where focus is given to the distribution of tracts, church calendars, biblical material, among others.
- Altar Counselling - members of the Ministry serve at the altar when an altar call is given by the church to ensure that basic contact information is collected from respondents for further contact to be made with them.
- Contact and Follow-up - first time visitors and persons who have responded to an altar call are contacted via several means such as telephone calls, email and letters.
- Hospitality - a reception is held for first time visitors on the day of their visit where refreshment is provided and meaningful interaction takes place.
- Training - equipping the membership to evangelize through targeted programmes such as Evangelism Explosion Training and Share Your Faith Workshops.
- Church Mobilization - the aim is to evangelize and lead the whole church in evangelism, emphasizing the importance of evangelism in making evangelism a way of life and in growing the Church.
- Planning - assist in planning and executing evangelistic and spiritual emphasis events such as crusades, spot meetings and mass evangelism.
- Discipling Potential Members - 'New Members' classes are conducted as one means of exposing potential members to the doctrines of the Church and guidelines for Christian living, allowing for persons to be prepared for baptism and to be received as members.
